Karaya Kai Resort Branding & Wordmark Design
Karaya Kai is set to be a secluded resort on the stunning island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas, part of the Ritz-Carlton Reserve collection. Its name, drawn from the Taíno words for “moon” (karaya) and “nourishment” (kai), reflects a philosophy of balance, tranquility, and connection to nature. Rooted in the island’s rich history, the brand creates a refined escape where heritage and contemporary design come together in harmony.
As brand designer, I crafted a bespoke typographic wordmark that captures effortless elegance and a sense of place, aligning with the resort’s organic, contemporary aesthetic. I also developed a color palette inspired by Eleuthera’s golden light, ocean hues, and lush terrain, refining the visual storytelling to ensure a cohesive and enduring identity across all touchpoints.
The result is a bespoke brand system that weaves cultural heritage, natural beauty, and understated sophistication into a seamless guest experience.
